Leslie Sloan grew up on a farm in the small southern town of Thomasville, Georgia. Coming from humble beginnings, she learned the importance of hard work and dedication and the value of forming relationships with people she admired. As a little girl, she had dreams of helping others through difficult times and decided that becoming an attorney would help her achieve that goal.
Leslie earned her criminal justice degree from Valdosta State University and from there, was accepted to Florida Coastal School of Law. During law school, she clerked with personal injury law firms on the plaintiff and the defense side, trying to figure out where she best fit. It was not until after law school though, when she experienced her own auto accident, that she truly understood the way an auto crash can permanently impact someone’s life. Due to the negligence of another driver, she sustained permanent injuries, and had to have a cervical spinal fusion surgery. Although this experience has been very difficult, it has given Leslie a unique understanding of her clients and allows her to relate to them on a personal level, having walked in their shoes.
Leslie works alongside Partner Gregg Anderson representing injured workers under the federal Longshore Harbor Workers Compensation Act and representing injured workers hurt overseas covered by the Defense Base Act and the Non-Appropriated Funds Instrumentalities Act. Her deep appreciation for the injured victims of auto crashes and those injured at work has fueled her passion for navigating clients through the often murky waters of the legal world. Leslie considers it an honor to be an advocate for these clients and feels blessed to be part of a profession that prides itself on justice and fairness.
