Chelsea Harris Named As Firm’s First Female Shareholder

JACKSONVILLE, Fla., July 26, 2022 – The shareholders of Coker Law are pleased to announce that Attorney Chelsea Harris has been chosen as Coker Law’s newest shareholder. Harris joined the Jacksonville-based firm in February 2019, focusing on personal injury-plaintiff, bodily injury, automobile crashes and premises liability. She has consistently demonstrated the legal skills and client dedication that make her an invaluable member of Coker Law’s legal team and its clients’ successes. “Chelsea is a very gifted trial lawyer. She spent many years on both sides of the personal injury practice honing her skills,” said Coker Law Shareholder Steve Watrel. “I am very proud to be a fellow shareholder with Chelsea. She earned this through hard work and dedication to the clients and the firm.”

Harris is the first female shareholder in the firm’s 46-year history. “I am so honored to have been selected as Coker Law’s newest shareholder,” said Harris.  It is truly a gift to be able to come to work every day with the best trial attorneys in the state of Florida and to now be a shareholder with these attorneys is an achievement that I will forever be proud of and grateful for.  I look forward to continuing to try cases for our clients at the highest level and providing our clients with excellent results.”

Prior to joining Coker Law’s elite team of trial attorneys, Harris held the role of managing shareholder with the firm of Kubicki Draper, defending some of the largest insurance companies in the country. She also worked as an assistant state attorney for the 4th Judicial Circuit in Duval County.

Harris has practiced law in Duval County for over 15 years, trying more than 40 cases to verdict. She is board certified, and AV rated. She was inducted into the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA) in 2019, and was selected to join the International Society of Barristers in 2020. In 2021, she was named to the Jacksonville Business Journal’s Top 40 Under 40 for her professionalism and volunteer activity in the First Coast community. Harris has also previously been selected to Best Lawyers in America and named to Super Lawyers. She is a member of the Jacksonville Women Lawyers’ Association, Jacksonville Justice Association, Florida Justice Association, and previously served as chair and vice-chair of the Law Week Committee for the Jacksonville Bar Association.
