What Is the Most Dangerous Road in Jacksonville, FL?

A recent study reported on by Action News Jax indicates that I-95 is not only the most dangerous highway in Florida, but it is also the most dangerous road in the United States. The highway received the designation after recording the highest number of fatalities in 2019. 

The report, compiled by The Zebra, also named Interstate 75 (I-75) as the 4th most dangerous highway in the country. 

What Are the Most Dangerous Intersections in Jacksonville?

In addition to having dangerous highways, Jacksonville is home to a number of potentially hazardous intersections. The Jaxson Mag listed the top ten most dangerous intersections in the Jacksonville Metropolitan Area based on the number of crashes in 2020. 

According to the Jaxson, metro Jacksonville’s most dangerous intersections are:

  • Blanding Blvd. & Wells Road
  • Blanding Blvd. & Youngerman Cir.
  • Blanding Blvd. & Argyle Forest Blvd.
  • Blanding Blvd. & Kingsley Ave.
  • S.R. 312 & U.S. 1
  • Blanding Blvd. & Collins Rd. 
  • Atlantic Blvd. & Southside Blvd.
  • 103rd St. & Ricker Rd. 
  • 103rd St. & Blanding Blvd. 
  • Beach Blvd. & Hodges Blvd.

Each of these intersections had at least 56 crashes in 2020. The most dangerous intersection, Blanding Blvd. & Wells Rd. in Orange Park, had an astounding 127 crashes during that year. 

Causes of Car Crashes in Jacksonville
