HOLIDAY DONATION FOR THE SALVATION ARMY OF NORTH EAST FLORIDA (Winter 2017)

For more than 20 years the generous legal professionals at Coker Law have created holiday magic for hundreds of children through The Salvation Army of Northeast Florida‘s Angel Tree. Each child receives clothing, toiletries and this year some special gifts included ipads, and electronics. This is what the holiday season is truly about!

Coker Law attorney Stefano Portigliatti and his lovely wife turned their holiday party into a donation collection for daniel kids, a First Coast organization focused on improving the lives of children. They personally delivered the gifts to daniel kids before the holidays, ensuring there would be presents for the children in time for Christmas.

Our firm recently received a handsome plaque from the volunteer organization Hands On Jacksonville for supporting their “A Visit From St. Nicholas” event.

FIRM LENDS A HAND TO JACKSONVILLE CHILDREN (Summer 2009)

The organization is to be congratulated for the outstanding work that they do – nearly 9000 children in 18 challenged elementary schools received gifts of toys and books and special attention from St. Nicholas. Our attorneys and staff applaud this accomplishment; we were happy to have been part of the special event.

WORKING TO MAKE CHILDREN'S WISHES COME TRUE (Spring 2006)

Going “all out” for children in need is a holiday tradition for our firm. For more than ten years, attorneys and staff have actively participated in the Salvation Army's “Angel Tree Project”, a program designed to come to the aid of area families who are not in a position to purchase gifts for their children at Christmas. “Angel Tree” allows parents who are part of the program to give donated items directly to their children and see their Christmas wishes come true.

Firm staff members' gifts consistently exceed the items on the children's wish lists. This year, in addition to the outfit and a toy that is part of the standard donation, there were bikes, games, dolls, food and other items guaranteed to delight a child. Legal Administrator Sherry Rice coordinates the program and comments: “It is a privilege to be of help to these families and their children. They may be in very difficult circumstances and it is a great feeling to know that we have been able to bring a little brightness to their holiday season.”

SPECIAL GIFTS FOR SHELTER RESIDENTS (Winter 2005)

During the fall and winter of 2004, Legal Administrators Carol Cenci and Sherry Rice supported Hubbard House, a Jacksonville shelter for battered women and children. In October, they read books to children in residence there. Their visit was coordinated by The Association of Legal Administrators, a group in which Carol and Sherry are both very active. In December, Carol and Sherry, along with each member of their association, contributed brightly wrapped gifts that had been picked out to make the season brighter for a child living at the shelter during Christmas.

SIZING UP THE NEEDS OF A CHILD (Winter 2005)

One of Legal Administrator Sherry Rice's favorite tasks in 2004 was coordinating the Salvation Army's annual “Angel Tree Project” for the firm. Along with Sherry, 15 of our staff volunteered to provide clothes and gifts for underprivileged children in our area at Christmas. Each person was given the name, age and the sizes of a specific child and asked to provide a complete outfit of clothes for them, along with any other gifts they wished to include in their package. A tradition for over ten years at the firm, the gifts enthusiastically purchased ranged from bicycles to dolls to trucks. Sherry was very pleased with the participation of the staff. As she sees it, “Everyone here takes it seriously, enjoys the shopping and gets a lot out of giving to these children.”
